Born and raised in Hammonds Plains, Maddy played minor hockey with the Bedford Blues before continuing her youth career at King’s - Edgehill. Out of high school, she was offered a position at the University of Toronto on the women’s hockey team, where she went on to win two OUA championships in just three years.

Following the completion of her undergraduate degree in Psychology, she wanted to continue her education and career and did so at Brock University. Within her two years at Brock, Maddy achieved an OUA All-Star award as well as being honoured as a USPORT All-Canadian. She received her Master’s of Science by completing her thesis focusing on athlete mental health and injury recovery.

With her University career coming to an end, she continued growing her game overseas, where she played for the Eisbären Berlin Juniors in the DFEL (Germany). Now finishing up her playing career, Maddy has switched her focus to player development and mental performance training, resulting in the creation of Tore Training.
